June 2013 Newsletter

This month’s newsletter focuses on food, from food trucks to The Seedfolk Store.  Food has become an important topic in our conversations.   We are fortunate in this City to be working to address food deserts and have a great network of farmer’s markets.  Like the South Wedge Farmers Market, which celebrates the opening of the 2013 season on Thursday, June 6 at 4 pm.  The Market is held in the shade of the lovely tree-lined space behind Boulder Coffee at 100 Alexander Street, at the intersection with South Clinton Avenue.   It will be held every Thursday from 4-7 pm through October 17.  Each week there will be live music, activities for kids, community groups, and cooking demonstrations, plus fresh, local food from nearby farms and producers. EBT customers are welcome at the South Wedge Farmers’ Market. The market will offer a special Bonus Program for EBT customers this year. Any EBT customer who purchases at least $10 in tokens will receive a $5 bonus to spend at the market (limit one bonus per...
